Stories are about sharing human experiences. No matter how wildly fantastical or strictly factual, the heart of every great story is true. I’ve never walked through a wardrobe into a snowy forest, sailed after pirate treasure, or traveled with twelve dwarves and a wizard. Chances are, I never will. Chances are, neither will you.

But I’ve been lonely. I’ve been lost in the woods and I’ve been scared of thunder. I’ve been so happy I’ve danced around the kitchen and I’ve laughed so hard my ribs were sore the next day.

Chances are, so have you.

There is a reason some people call books their friends. The greatest stories are the ones give us that “you too?” moment, where we realize that we’re not as alone as we thought.

Maybe you’ve heard all this before.

Let me leave you with this invitation: stories are hands-on. As I work on spinning my own tales, I’ll share notes and observations from my research and various adventures. Learn with me. Explore with with me. Observe with me.

Chances are, you’ll gather some great stories of your own.
